The unique Induction Heating (IH) system in the Hakko FX-100 soldering station heats the tip quickly and maintains the set temperature whenever the soldering tip gives off heat, aided by Hakko's patented "Power Assist" function. This feature causes less temperature drop during soldering and speeds up heating.

For particularly difficult
solder joints where more power is needed, the station has a "boost mode" that increases the temperature by 5 °C to 10 °C (depending on the shape of the soldering tip).
