Weller CT series soldering tip, CT2 E7/7,0 mm, gerade, 370 °C

The Magnastat system works by means of a permanent magnet and a ferro-magnetic temperature sensor. When the soldering tip is cold, the permanent magnet is attracted by the ferro-magnetic temperature sensor. In this state, the switch is closed and the heating is switched on. When the temperature sensor approaches its Curie low point, i.e. the
selected tip temperature, its magnetic behavior changes and the heating is switched off. If the peak cools down a bit, the temperature sensor picks up again and the control loop starts again.

The working temperature is selected by simply changing the soldering tip with the temperature sensor attached to it. Weller Longlife soldering tips
include temperature ranges of 260°, 310°C , 370°C , 425°C and 480°C.

The WTCP 51 is not suitable for ESD-safe applications because the soldering iron is not antistatic.
