WB35/SOX flux has a high level of activity despite the extremely low solids content of only 3.5 %. It can therefore be used to process printed circuit boards in any conventional quality that can be soldered. It is applied by means of a spray fluxer. In practice, it has been shown that, when used properly, it is largely unnecessary to wash printed
circuit boards that had been soldered with this flux. In general, however, components soldered with water-based fluxes which are subsequently painted or cast must first be tested for compatibility of the coating media with the flux residues. If aqueous FM systems are used, IC testing using needle adapters can also be impaired.
