The system utilizes SmartHeat® technology, where each soldering tip is equipped with a self-regulating heating element that "senses" its own temperature and accurately maintains the preset idle temperature throughout the life of the tip. Tip temperature is determined by the inherent metallurgical properties of the heating element, no external
adjustment or equipment is required. The MX-500 features a switchable dual port and 40W of SmartHeat® power.
