Vorheizplatten dienen der Vorwärmung von elektronischen Baugruppen. Sie erwärmen den Bereich unter dem auszulötenden Bauteil. Dadurch wird der Wärmebedarf von oben verringert und das Risiko thermischer Beschädigung durch einseitige Erwärmung reduziert. Der gesamte Reparaturprozess wird beschleunigt und sicherer.
Ein Leiterplattenhalter ist auf der Heizplatte angebracht um ein Verrutschen der Platine zu verhindern. Ein zusätzlicher Platinenhalter wird nicht benötigt.
